This bowl contains 241 individual pieces of wood, joined together and then turned on the lathe. It is approximately 12 1/2 inches in diameter, and approx. 8inches high, and took approx. 30 hours to make. It contains walnut, cherry, maple, oak and ash.
We will be putting out a dozen or so segmented bowls ( each one is unique) across Ontario as fund raisers for local sanctuaries. We are also attempting to arrange demonstrations of how this work is done. Segmented wood turning is a wonderful hobby…and quite easy once you are shown how!
